Fixed and Variable Minimum Pricing
A ticket tier's pricing type determines whether its listed amount is the ticket price or the minimum a customer can pay. You configure this alongside the amount in the event's Seating & Pricing editor, not in the shared Pricing Catalog. You need permission to manage the event.
Choose the pricing type

Use fixed pricing for a set ticket price. Use variable-minimum pricing when you want customers to choose how much to pay above a minimum. Give the tier a clear name and explain the offer in your event information.
These are ticket amounts. Discounts, fees, and taxes can affect the final order total; review the checkout total as well as the amount shown on a ticket.
Configure a tier
- Open Events, select the event, and open Seating & Pricing.
- Find the relevant category under GA Categories for general admission, or the seat-map category for reserved seating.
- Select Add Tier, or Edit on an existing tier. For a new tier, choose its label or create the name you need.
- Enter the amount. This is the ticket price for Fixed, or the minimum ticket price for Variable minimum.
- Set Pricing type to Fixed or Variable minimum.
- Select Save. Check the saved amount and pricing type, and make sure the category and tier are enabled when you intend to offer them for sale.
Repeat for other tiers or categories that need their own pricing. Selecting variable-minimum pricing on one tier does not turn every tier into that type.

What customers see
Customers select the tier when choosing their tickets. For a variable-minimum tier, they can edit an individual ticket's amount in the booking summary. The Set ticket price popover shows Min and Max limits; the entered amount must be within them. Selecting Update Price updates that ticket and the total.
The price-amount edit control is separate from the tier-name edit control. Changing Adult to Student chooses another tier; editing a variable ticket's amount keeps that tier and changes how much the customer pays for that ticket.
