Overview
An event is the public listing for an experience, such as a concert or theatre production. An event time is a scheduled occurrence of that event, with its own date and time. One event can have several event times, so always distinguish changes to the listing from changes to an individual event time.
Create an event
Choose general admission when customers should select quantities without named seats. Choose reserved seating when they should choose locations on a map. Prepare the venue and, where needed, its seat map before configuring tickets.
An event also needs clear descriptions, prices, and scheduled dates. For a new setup, follow the general admission or reserved-seating creation guide. Duplicating an existing event can provide a starting point, but review the new event's details before offering it for sale.
Manage listings
The listing's descriptions, images, and purchase terms tell customers what they are buying. Preview the draft to check that the information makes sense from a customer's perspective before publication.
Unpublishing or archiving a listing manages its visibility and catalog state. It is not a substitute for handling changes to bookings already sold.
Event times
Each event time needs the intended schedule, venue, and sales window. A sales opening or closing time determines when booking is available; it is different from the time the event time starts.
Canceling an event time and completing one represent different outcomes. Review affected orders when canceling, and use the completion workflow after the event time when appropriate. The detailed guides explain the available review and confirmation steps for each action.
Seat availability
Some seats may need to stay unavailable, for example because equipment occupies them. Other seats may be reserved for customers who have an access code. A seat-access code unlocks eligible seats; it is different from a promotional discount.
