Overview
Passes let customers buy access to several event times through one offer. You decide which event times are included, what customers can buy, and whether they choose their dates during purchase or redeem credits later.
For example, an arts organization could offer three visits across its music program, or sell a fixed series of three event times together. Both offers can use the same collection while giving customers different ways to book.
Flex and Series passes
| Type | What the customer buys | How admission is booked |
|---|---|---|
| Flex Pass | Credits for eligible event times. | The customer chooses available event times and redeems credits after buying. Purchasing the pass alone does not reserve admission. |
| Series Pass | An offered set of event times. | The customer selects a series during purchase, and its event times are booked together. |
A collection can offer Flex, Series, or both when its configuration supports them. Describe the offer clearly so customers know whether they still need to book individual event times after purchase.
Collections
A collection brings the eligible events and event times together with the public listing and pass offers. It is where you define the program customers can browse, not a pass owned by an individual customer.
Read the Collections overview to understand how eligibility, pass options, Series options, and publication fit together. Prepare the events and their scheduled dates before configuring the offer.
Pass options
Pass options define the choices customers can purchase, including the number of credits and the available prices. One collection can have multiple options so customers can choose an offer that fits their plans.
A Series option identifies the particular event times sold together and needs a compatible pass option. Enabling Series on a collection alone does not create a complete offer: configure the series and its pricing before publishing.
Use Pass Options & Pricing to maintain the purchasable choices, and add a Series option when customers should book a set of event times together.
Customer passes & credits
After purchase, the customer owns a pass with its own reference, usage, and activity history. A Flex Pass starts with credits to redeem; a Series Pass has its selected event times allocated during booking. Used credits or allocated event times do not by themselves mean the customer has already attended.
To help with an existing purchase, first locate the customer's pass. You can then review its usage and activity, assist with a booking, or make an authorized credit change. Check the customer's request and the effect on their remaining credits before saving.
Changes to the public offer are separate from changes to purchased passes. Retiring an option does not refund a customer, and changing a collection's sales expiry does not rewrite passes already issued. Handle customer booking changes through the relevant pass or order workflow.
Check the customer experience
Before sharing the offer, review its public listing, included event times, prices, and purchase terms. Confirm that the choices match what you intend to sell. The attendee pass overview explains the two pass types from the customer's perspective.
